Death toll climbs after Russian attack on Kyiv: 13 dead, 86 injured

As a result of the attack on Kyiv on July 2, the number of injured has risen to 86, while the death toll has reached 13. Rescuers are still searching for people trapped under the rubble of damaged residential buildings, according to Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko.
At present, 13 deaths have been confirmed in the capital. The total number of injuries has risen to 86, including two children.
Seventy of the injured have been hospitalized.
Scale of the destruction
The enemy directly hit at least 20 residential buildings. In total, about 100 more buildings across the city were damaged in the attack.
State Emergency Service rescuers continue working at 15 locations, clearing the rubble. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko added that people may still be trapped beneath the debris.
Operation in the Darnytskyi district
A search and rescue operation is continuing in one of the damaged buildings in the Darnytskyi district, where part of a multi-story residential building was destroyed.
On the morning of July 2, a medical facility and a hotel in central Kyiv were also damaged, and medical workers were injured by falling debris. Fires also spread to the roofs of several apartment buildings in different districts of the capital.
The State Emergency Service released footage of the aftermath of the attack, showing the scale of the fires and destruction across seven districts of Kyiv. Rescuers also reported that they rescued one person from under the rubble in the Pecherskyi district.
