Danish jets took off over possible drone activity

The Danish Air Force scrambled a fighter jet over the Baltic Sea following possible drone activity, according to TV2.
Police reported that the decision came after multiple residents observed unusual objects in the sky.
Thomas Elsgård, duty officer of the Bornholm Police Department, clarified that the aircraft initially flew over the island in one direction and later returned.
At the same time, no official statements about fighter jet activity have been issued by representatives of the armed forces.
The Danish military continues to monitor the airspace and collect information on possible UAVs to ensure the security of the country and maritime infrastructure. It is known that two F-16s are permanently on combat duty, ready to take off within minutes in the event of a potential threat.
In the context of an increase in such incidents since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, these kinds of military activities have become significantly more frequent.
Meanwhile, in neighboring Norway, airport operator Avinor stated late on Sunday that drone activity had been observed at Brønnøysund Airport, one of four airports in northern Norway where flight and ground restrictions for drones had been extended to 10 km as a precautionary measure.
Norway had already investigated possible drone sightings on Saturday near its largest military base, Ørland, where its F-35 fighters are stationed.
In recent weeks, Denmark, Poland, and Romania have experienced a wave of drone intrusions, along with Russian fighter jet violations of Estonian airspace.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that Russian tankers may be used to launch and control drones over European cities, though Danish intelligence has not yet confirmed Russia’s involvement in the incidents in Denmark.
Meanwhile, Russia continues its deadly bombardments of Ukraine.
