Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia is using tankers to launch drones at European countries.

"Intelligence now indicates that the Russians are using tankers to launch and operate drones against European countries," the President said.

He added that Ukraine expects Europe to make decisions this week regarding pressure on Russia. At least a 19th sanctions package is expected.

"It is especially important that sanctions hit painfully at Russia's energy trade and the entire infrastructure of its tanker fleet," the President said.

Unidentified drones over Europe

On the night of September 10, when Russia carried out a massive drone and missile attack on Ukraine, 19 drones entered Polish airspace.

Since that incident, drones have been repeatedly detected in several European countries over the past week, although their origin remains unknown.

Drones were spotted in Denmark, Norway, Finland, Germany, and the Netherlands. Following these incidents, countries temporarily closed airspace over some airports.

Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation said recently that Russia is attempting to paralyze air travel in certain European countries. Officials also warned that if there is no response, Russia will escalate such attacks.
