Czechia to continue to support Ukraine with ammunition and in other forms - PM
Czechia will continue to support Ukraine both within the framework of the ammunition initiative and in other forms, according to Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala on Twitter (X).
“Our political opponents often shout that we are helping Ukraine too much, that we should stop and peace will come,” Fiala wrote.
However, he emphasized that Czechia is helping Ukraine "to prevent the kind of bloodshed seen today in Poltava, where over 40 people were killed by Russian missiles."
“Therefore, we will continue to support Ukraine both through our ammunition initiative and in other ways,” the Czech Prime Minister stated.
Support for Ukraine from Czechia
At the beginning of 2024, Czech President Petr Pavel announced that Prague had secured hundreds of thousands of shells for Ukraine, but the project required funding. Subsequently, several Western countries joined the initiative.
Recently, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala stated that by the end of 2024, Ukraine will receive approximately 500,000 additional munitions as part of this initiative.
Additionally, this year the Czech Ministry of Defense is preparing to launch a renewed initiative to supply artillery munitions to Ukraine. This time, Czech manufacturers will participate in the initiative.
