Croatia will not send a single soldier to Ukraine, President says

Croatia categorically refuses to send its military to Ukraine. Its soldiers will not participate in the European military contingent under any circumstances, according to Croatian President Zoran Milanovic.
On Thursday, Milanovic reiterated that not a single Croatian soldier would set foot on Ukrainian soil.
The President emphasized that not a single Croatian soldier would go to Ukraine under any arrangements, as it was completely excluded.
His statement came as Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic was in Paris discussing the possibility of a European military contingent as part of a future peace agreement with Russia.
Milanovic added that he had gone to the polls with this position and that it was his duty to those who had entrusted him with their vote
Le Figaro also notes that Milanovic was re-elected in January this year. Since then, the Croatian President has regularly faced criticism from his opponents for his political views.
European troops in Ukraine
European countries are now actively discussing the possibility of sending a military contingent after the end of the full-scale war in Ukraine.
In particular, in early March, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the creation of a "coalition of the willing" to gather countries that are ready to send troops.
Today, on March 27, another summit in support of Ukraine started in France. According to Sky News, the summit will be attended by delegations and leaders from 31 countries. During the meeting, they will discuss strengthening the Ukrainian army and the prospect of deploying a European military contingent to Ukraine as part of a future peaceful settlement of the war.
During today's summit in Paris, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has already stated that Athens is ready to participate in a possible peacekeeping mission in Ukraine. However, there are certain conditions for this.
The Associated Press has reported that France is proposing to deploy peacekeeping forces in central Ukraine. This is likely to mean deploying troops along the Dnipro River.
