In Sevastopol, Russian authorities have decided to introduce a number of restrictive measures. Public transport, supermarkets, and even mass events have been affected by the restrictions, according to a post by the Russian governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev.
According to him, in light of recent events on the peninsula and the need for operational adjustments, a number of temporary measures have been implemented.
Some of the restrictions concern fuel. On June 22 and 23, gasoline will not be sold in the city. Fuel will be dispensed exclusively for the vehicles of special services that ensure the city's vital functions.
Transport has also been affected by the new measures. In particular:
- Public transport will now operate from 05:30 to 21:00;
- Sea connections: ferries will not run, only passenger boats;
- From 15:00 on June 22, public transport operations during air raid alerts will also change.
Trade and public catering have also been restricted. Under the new restrictions:
- Large retail facilities (shopping centers, supermarkets, and hypermarkets) will operate from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Small shops, kiosks, and pharmacies may set their own schedules.
- The operating hours of cafes and public catering establishments have also changed; they will now work from 08:00 to 20:00.
In addition, according to Razvozhayev, Sevastopol has been left without street lighting. Residents of the city may also experience power outages.
"Street lighting will not be turned on. Due to overload on the power grids outside Sevastopol, temporary power outage schedules may be implemented. Therefore, I urge everyone to reduce consumption where possible and to use fewer household appliances at the same time," he wrote.
Razvozhayev also added that from June 22 until further notice, all mass street events in the city are canceled.
Situation in Crimea
Today, during the day, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian forces had struck a number of important facilities near the Crimean Bridge, targeting enemy logistics and air defense.
Russian Crimean authorities announced today that part of the occupied peninsula had been left without electricity due to these same Ukrainian drones. For this reason, residents were urged to conserve electricity.
