Cooperation between North Korea and Russia raises concerns due to its impact on security in Europe
In the United States and other countries, the strengthening cooperation between North Korea and Russia raises concerns about its impact on the security situation in Europe and on the Korean Peninsula, stated Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh during the briefing.
A representative of the U.S. Department of Defense stated that the Pentagon continues to monitor the military cooperation between Russia and North Korea.
She noted that as of today, there is no confirmed information about new arms shipments.
However, according to her, the United States and other countries are concerned about the deepening cooperation between the two regimes, as it may impact the security situation in Europe and on the Korean Peninsula.
Military cooperation between North Korea and Russia
On January 4, the White House National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby stated that Russia had acquired ballistic missiles from North Korea, which were already used for strikes against Ukraine.
Later, information emerged that occupiers targeted Kharkiv with North Korean missiles, which was subsequently confirmed by the prosecutor's office with additional details.
Recently, the White House also claimed that Russian occupiers continue to shell Ukraine with ballistic missiles from North Korea. However, North Korea denies this.
Representatives of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense stated that North Korea actively supplied ammunition to Russia throughout the fall. According to the agency's estimates, this involves approximately one million artillery shells.
It has also been revealed that Russian ships are being loaded in a North Korean port, as indicated by satellite images presented by the United Kingdom.
