CIA sounds alarm over possible strike on Iran’s nuclear sites

As a result of recent US and Israeli strikes, Iran’s nuclear program has been seriously damaged, according to a statement by CIA Director John Ratcliffe.
“CIA can confirm that a body of credible intelligence indicates Iran’s Nuclear Program has been severely damaged by the recent, targeted strikes,” the statement reads.
It is noted that the report contains new intelligence showing that several key Iranian nuclear facilities were destroyed and will take several years to restore.
The CIA noted that it continues to gather additional information regarding the aftermath of the strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities in order to fully inform relevant decision-makers and oversight bodies.
“When possible, we will also provide updates and information to the American public,” the CIA added.
Strikes on Iran
Israel launched Operation Rising Lion on June 13, targeting Iranian military and nuclear sites, and eliminating top commanders and nuclear physicists.
On the night of June 22, US forces conducted strikes on Iranian facilities. US President Donald Trump announced the destruction of the nuclear site in Fordow.
According to Fox News, the US used six bunker-buster bombs, each weighing 15 tons.
Later, CNN, citing US intelligence sources, reported that the strikes allegedly did not completely destroy key components of Iran’s nuclear program.
The edition triggered controversy in the US. The White House stated that the report was inaccurate, while US intelligence officials claimed such rumors were aimed at undermining the authority of President Donald Trump.
