Chinese Foreign Ministry may have removed information on Ukraine's administrative division, political system, and foreign policy from its website, Sing Tao Daily reports.

According to the publication, the Brief Overview of Ukraine on the website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry was updated between March 2024 and July 2025. In the original version on the site, it was stated that Ukraine is divided into 24 regions and one autonomous republic (Crimea) and has two cities with special status (Kyiv and Sevastopol).

At the same time, in the Politics section on the site, events of recent years were described, including the Revolution of Dignity, the flight of Viktor Yanukovych, the beginning of the so-called Ukrainian crisis, and the full-scale war of 2022.

In the Diplomacy section, Ukraine's priorities in relations with the United States and the West were indicated, as well as progress in joining international organizations, condemnation of Russian aggression, refusal to recognize the occupation of Crimea, and attempts to enlist the support of the international community.

As noted by Wang Jiangyu, professor at the School of Law of the City University of Hong Kong, this is a significant change that indicates that China has altered its position, which previously consisted of full support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

China's role

Earlier, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated that China was supposedly ready to seek ways to resolve Russia's war against Ukraine and play a constructive role.

At the same time, as noted by the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, about 80% of the electronics for Russian drones were produced by Chinese companies.

More details about China's assistance to Russia can be found in the material by RBC-Ukraine.
