China says it's ready to deepen strategic ties with North Korea – Reuters

Beijing wants to develop its relations with North Korea in order to strengthen strategic cooperation in international and regional affairs, reports Reuters.
Xi Jinping sent a reply to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to a letter on the anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
The letter states that Beijing and Pyongyang are “good neighbors, good friends” who share a common destiny and help each other, and whose friendship is growing stronger. The leaders of the two countries prepared a “blueprint” for the development of relations at a meeting during Kim's visit to China in September, the letter says.
North Korean state media also reported that China and North Korea had signed a memorandum of understanding on issues of mutual concern.
Relations between China and North Korea
On September 3, a military parade was held in Beijing to mark the 80th anniversary of China's victory over Japanese invaders and in World War II. The latest weapons and equipment of the Chinese army were demonstrated at the parade.
Russian president Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un were invited to the parade and watched the celebrations alongside Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Trump, in turn, said that he watched the parade in Beijing online, which, in his opinion, was what the leaders of China and Russia had hoped for.
Prior to this, Donald Trump announced a conspiracy between the three leaders against the US, and then instructed the Pentagon to develop a strategy to contain China and Russia.
