In China, one of its citizens is accused of espionage in favor of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States, according to the Ministry of State Security of China, Reuters reports.
The Chinese national surnamed Zeng, who had worked for a military industrial group, was recruited by a CIA agent based in Italy.
The ministry clarifies that Zeng was sent to Italy for further studies. "Through dinner parties, outings and trips to the opera, the two developed a "close" relationship, with Zeng gradually becoming "psychologically dependent" on the CIA agent," the statement says.
After this, the CIA agent sought sensitive information about the Chinese military from Zeng.

Recently, two sailors from the United States Navy were arrested. They were accused of passing secret information to China.
According to him, as a result of the sailors' actions, "sensitive military info ended up in the hands of the People’s Republic of China."
