Long-range drones belonging to the Security Service of Ukraine struck the third Russian oil production platform in the Caspian Sea, owned by Lukoil, says a source in the SBU.
This time, the strike hit a drilling rig at the Rakushechnoye field (named after Valery Graifer), which belongs to the Russian company Lukoil.
The drone's onboard camera recorded a successful hit on the platform's gas turbine unit, which is a critical element of its operation.

Previously, SBU drones had already struck ice-resistant oil platforms at the Filanovsky and Korchagin fields in the Caspian Sea.
They resulted in the shutdown of production processes at these facilities.
“The SBU continues to systematically reduce oil dollar revenues to the Russian war budget. All facilities that provide funding for the aggression against Ukraine are absolutely legitimate targets,” said an informed source in the SBU.
In recent weeks, the SBU has been consistently expanding the geography and depth of its strikes on the Russian energy infrastructure.
The Caspian platforms are of strategic importance because they ensure stable production and export of energy resources. Their destruction increases economic pressure on Russia and limits its ability to finance aggression against Ukraine.
The dynamics of events indicate that the strikes are not one-off but systematic in nature and aimed at weakening the enemy's resource base in the long term.
On Friday, December 12, SBU drones disabled a Russian oil platform in the Caspian Sea. This was Ukraine's first recorded strike on a Russian oil production facility in the region.
That same evening, the Security Service of Ukraine's drones launched a second attack on Russian oil platforms, resulting in the shutdown of production facilities.
The SBU also struck a tanker belonging to Russia's shadow fleet in neutral waters in the Mediterranean Sea for the first time.
