Canadian PM Carney doesn't rule out sending troops as Ukraine counts on support

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Canada is an active member of the Coalition of the Willing and expects it to play a strong role in providing security guarantees.
Zelenskyy said the presence of Canadian forces in Ukraine is crucial for the country's stability and security.
"We count on the presence of Canadian forces in Ukraine. This is important for us," he said.
He stressed that support from allies is key to strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said that they were working with their allies, the Coalition of the Determined, and with Ukraine on the terms of security guarantees on land, in the air, and at sea. He added that he would not rule out the presence of troops.
Prime Minister Carney also noted that Canada understands the lessons of history and does not trust Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He said Putin has repeatedly broken his promises, from the Minsk agreements to the present day.
Carney added that Putin is responsible for thousands of deaths and millions affected by the war in Ukraine.
