Canadian Prime Minister (PM) Mark Carney, who arrived in Ukraine for the first time, was shown components of Russian weapons. Most of the weapon parts are of Western or Chinese origin, Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence reports.

The presentation took place during a special event with the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and foreign ambassadors.

Among the items displayed were machine vision and artificial intelligence systems, lidars, CRP antennas, mesh modems, as well as downed Russian drones - Shahed and Delta.

According to intelligence officials, most components of Russian weapons are of Western or Chinese origin, clearly demonstrating the critical dependence of Russia’s military-industrial complex on imported equipment and parts.

“Systemic international coordination will make it impossible to bypass sanctions and will increase pressure on the aggressor state,” Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence explained.

International partners were also presented with the War&Sanctions analytical platform - a digital tool for tracking Western components in Russian weapons and combating sanctions evasion.

In the Components in Weapons section of the portal, the database of new samples studied by intelligence experts and scientists is regularly updated.

Intelligence officials emphasize that the work to identify Russian technologies and production chains is ongoing in order to strengthen international pressure and limit the Kremlin’s ability to continue the war.

In July, a similar exhibition was organized for the US Presidential Special Envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg.

He was shown Western-made electronic parts discovered in Russian weapons. They were extracted from missiles, Shahed UAVs, and other weaponry.

Carney’s visit and Canada’s assistance

On Ukraine’s Independence Day, August 24, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney visited Kyiv for the first time and announced increased support for Ukraine.

Afterward, Canada announced a new package of military aid for Ukraine. It will include air defense systems, armored vehicles, ammunition, drones, and electronic warfare equipment.
