Canada's future prime minister reveals duration of tariffs on US goods

The new Canadian government will maintain the corresponding tariffs against the US until Americans start respecting us, states the newly elected leader of the Liberal Party of Canada and the future Prime Minister of the country, Mark Carney.
Criticizing the plans of the Trump administration to impose tariffs on Canada, the future head of the government adopted a tough tone.
"He’s attacking Canadian families, workers, and businesses and we cannot let him succeed and we won’t. In trade as in hockey, Canada will win," said Carney.
Trade war between the US and Canada
Mark Carney, the former Governor of the Bank of Canada, was elected as the new candidate for the position of Prime Minister of the country following a vote by 150,000 members of the Liberal Party.
On March 4, the US imposed a new 25% tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico. The Trump administration had planned to introduce the tariffs on February 4 but delayed the decision by a month.
At the same time, Trump exempted Canadian and Mexican goods that fall under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) from the tariffs.
Canada introduced retaliatory 25% tariffs on US goods but later delayed their implementation as well.
Additionally, Trump announced plans to review the border between the US and Canada.
