Canada assists US in battling wildfires in California - Trudeau
Canada is assisting the United States in combating wildfires in Southern California, deploying equipment, firefighters, and military personnel, according to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Twitter (X).
"Canada is mobilizing to help fight the wildfires in southern California. Canadian water bombers are already in action. 250 firefighters are ready to deploy," Trudeau stated.
He noted that the Canadian Armed Forces are ready to deploy personnel and equipment to support their "American neighbors."
"Canada's here to help," the Canadian Prime Minister added.
Wildfires in California
Recently, a massive wildfire broke out in a suburb of Los Angeles. The fire has already destroyed over 1,100 hectares, with strong winds and dry weather contributing to its rapid spread.
Yesterday, January 8, a state of emergency was declared in California. Three fire hotspots are raging in the area, including one in an exclusive neighborhood popular among Hollywood stars.
