Europe has made "a couple of mistakes," focusing on its own defense industry capabilities. It is necessary to purchase everything available worldwide to ensure Ukraine's victory, according to the chairman of the Bundestag Foreign Affairs Committee, Michael Roth.

Roth emphasized that the world must stop Russian imperialism because if Ukraine is defeated, the war will continue in Europe.

According to the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Bundestag, Europe has made "a couple of mistakes" by solely focusing on its defense industry capabilities. Therefore, it is crucial to purchase everything necessary globally to support the Ukrainian military. He specifically called on major European economies such as Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and Spain to follow the example of their Baltic and Northern European counterparts.

Roth also criticized the failure to fulfill the promise of providing Ukraine with 1 million rounds of ammunition.

"The number one priority: ammunition, ammunition, and ammunition again. Second - anti-aircraft defense systems and missiles for them. Third - armed drones," Roth noted.

He also added that discussions should also include long-range missiles.

Taurus for Ukraine

Ukraine has requested Germany to begin supplying long-range Taurus missiles capable of destroying targets up to 500 kilometers away since last year.

However, the German government refuses to transfer such weapons. According to media reports, Chancellor Olaf Scholz himself opposes it. He is concerned that the Ukrainian Armed Forces may use German missiles to strike Russian territory, making Germany a party to the conflict.

On Monday, February 19, German media reported that the ruling coalition in the Bundestag is preparing a call to the government to transfer long-range missiles to Ukraine. However, there was no specific mention of Taurus in the document.

On February 22, the Bundestag supported a resolution recommending the German government to begin supplying long-range Taurus missiles to Kyiv.
