Bulgaria proposes at NATO summit to initiate Russia-Ukraine negotiations
At the upcoming NATO summit in Washington, Bulgaria intends to propose initiating peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, announces acting Bulgarian Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev.
"I genuinely believe we should advocate for peace negotiations, with Bulgaria acting as the mediator. What could be better than that? And that is what I will propose; there is no problem," he said.
At the same time, Glavchev expressed doubt that Bulgaria can count on mediator status, as both sides must agree to this.
He also emphasized that negotiations should adhere to the UN Charter and international law.
"It is essential to emphasize that these peace negotiations must align with the UN Charter and international law. These are conditions which, in my opinion, are non-negotiable," emphasized Dimitar Glavchev.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, speaking about negotiations with Russia, stated that a Minsk-3 scenario cannot be allowed. According to him, to achieve a decision on peace in Ukraine, NATO members must provide military support to the country.
Earlier, it was reported that Russia has launched an information operation Peace, aimed at diluting the Ukrainian peace formula in Western and Global South countries.
