Bulgaria announces new military aid package to Ukraine
Bulgaria has announced new military aid to Ukraine. Bulgarian aid to Ukraine has already amounted to 47 million euros, according to Bulgarian Defense Minister Todor Tagarev.
According to him, armored personnel carriers are currently being delivered to Ukraine.
"APCs for Ukraine are still in Sofia. They will be sent in a few days, but I will not give a timeframe," he adds, assuring that the aid with the highest priority has long since left.
Bulgaria's assistance to Ukraine
Since the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion, Bulgaria has been providing Ukraine with various types of assistance. Earlier, the Bulgarian parliament voted behind closed doors to supply Ukraine with unserviceable S-300 missiles.
In July last year, it was reported that Bulgaria could provide Ukraine with about 100 armored personnel carriers from the warehouses of the Ministry of the Interior.
In December, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev vetoed the free supply of armored vehicles to Ukraine.
However, later the Bulgarian National Assembly (Parliament) overrode President Radev's veto on the supply of armored personnel carriers to Ukraine.
Recently, it was reported that Bulgaria is delaying the delivery of 100 armored personnel carriers to Ukraine, as the Ministry of Defense has asked NATO to cover the transportation costs.
