As a reminder, the European Union has already imposed 11 packages of sanctions against Russia after it invaded Ukraine.
In particular, the restrictions included a ban on exports to Russia of goods that could be used for weapons production. The sanctions lists also included individuals and legal entities responsible for the invasion of Ukraine and helping to prolong the war.
The 12th package of EU sanctions is likely to include a ban on imports of Russian diamonds. According to Bloomberg, the package will hit trade with the aggressor country by about 5 billion euros.
