Western countries need to double their resolve in supporting Ukraine. It is crucial to ensure the strongest possible position for Ukraine, states UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, according to The Guardian.

Starmer emphasized that he "pays tribute" to the resilience of the Ukrainian people and the leadership of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the face of missile and drone attacks by the bloody machine of Russian President Vladimir Putin, which continue even on Christmas.

"As we go into the New Year, it remains vital that we redouble our resolve to place Ukraine in the strongest possible position to end Russia’s illegal aggression against the Ukrainian people," the Prime Minister stated.

Possibility of negotiations in 2025

Amid the rapid inauguration of Donald Trump, the possibility of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in 2025 has become a more frequent topic of discussion in the West.

As NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte emphasized, for negotiations to take place, Western countries must help Ukraine secure a strong position. Only in such a case can discussions about dialogue with Russia be considered.

Recently, Head of the President’s Office of Ukraine, Andrii Yermak, acknowledged that Ukraine is still not strong enough to begin negotiations with Russia.

At the same time, Starmer himself stressed that the UK aims to ensure the strongest possible position for Ukraine in 2025.
