On July 16, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer traveled to Ukraine. In Kyiv, he will assure Volodymyr Zelenskyy of London’s unwavering support, which will continue even after his resignation, according to The Telegraph.

Starmer will meet with Zelenskyy four days before leaving Downing Street. He will be succeeded as prime minister by Andy Burnham.

During his two years in office, the current British leader has placed particular emphasis on supporting Ukraine in its war against Russia.

On July 16, Starmer arrived in Kyiv with an important message.

"I am so proud of what Britain has contributed. That work will continue, and our cast-iron support for Ukraine will always endure. Not just for them and for European security, but for families in Britain who have felt the cost of this war through rising prices," the British Prime Minister says.

Starmer also plans to tell Zelenskyy that London will continue to do everything possible to ensure Ukraine’s victory in the war.

"When I became Prime Minister, I knew the UK must not simply stand with Ukraine in the moment, but help build the foundations of its long-term security and success," the British leader explains.

Earlier, Starmer announced a plan to deploy troops from 25 countries to Ukraine.

Furthermore, Ukraine will purchase weapons from Britain using a loan from the EU.

United Kingdom is also drawing on Ukraine’s experience to establish a drone unit.
