In the past month, there have been more frequent cases of Russian aviation dropping bombs on its own territory. This demonstrates the degree of fatigue among the personnel and inadequate training, according to the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain on X.

As indicated in the summary, the Russian independent Telegram news channel Astra reported on January 27 that Russian aircraft accidentally dropped two unguided FAB-250 bombs on two Russian villages in the Belgorod region. The first bomb fell on a farm in Postnikov, and the second on a city street in the village of Streletskoye, leading to the evacuation of up to 150 people within a radius of 500 meters.

According to British intelligence, this is the fourth accidental release of Russian aviation munitions on its own territory this month. The earliest incident occurred in Belgorod on April 20, 2023.

"It cannot be confirmed whether such incidents occur due to poor procedures when arming the aircraft prior to sorties or poor execution of the aircrew during missions. It's likely a combination of both. The increasing frequency of these occurrences likely demonstrates a degree of air and ground crew fatigue within the Russian front line, as well as exposing inadequate training," notes the British Ministry of Defense.
