Borrell urges EU countries to invest more funds in military mobility
The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, called on EU members to address years of neglect and underfunding in military mobility in Europe, according to Europa Press.
Borrell believes that debates should now focus on how to compensate for decades of insufficient funding in an issue that gained prominence after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Borrell stated that today Europeans have realized they live in a very confrontational and dangerous world. He emphasized the need to invest in military mobility, highlighting that years of neglect and lack of funding must be rectified.
The EU High Representative also emphasized the need to increase training in military mobility.
On January 30, Germany, the Netherlands, and Poland signed an agreement aimed at reducing bureaucratic hurdles hindering the rapid movement of troops and armaments to NATO's eastern flank.
