Ukraine needs to strengthen its military arsenal. Partners should provide long-range missiles, states European Union diplomat Josep Borrell.

As shared by Borrell, he had a phone conversation with the Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski.

The politicians expressed concerns over intensified Russian air attacks against Ukraine's civilian infrastructure.

"We agreed on the need to enhance our military support to Ukraine, including with long range and anti aircraft missiles," Borrell wrote.

They also discussed ways to enhance measures against circumventing sanctions against Russia, noting that a significantly increased European export to third countries could be re-exported to Russia.

Massive strike by occupiers on Ukraine on January 2

Today, on January 2, Russian occupiers once again launched a massive attack on Ukraine, employing kamikaze drones and missiles.

The primary target of the enemy was Kyiv. In the vicinity of the capital, air defense forces successfully intercepted approximately 60 missiles. They managed to destroy enemy hypersonic Kinzhal missiles launched from MiG-31K aircraft.

In total, Ukrainian defenders neutralized 72 missiles today.

Despite the effective work of the air defense system, there are casualties in Kyiv and several regions. In the capital, dozens of civilians were injured due to falling debris.
