'Billions of euros in potential': Zelenskyy sums up Carpathian 8 summit

A new format for cooperation between Ukraine and its allies within the Carpathian 8 will help the country advance toward joining the European Union. It also has enormous financial potential, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The head of state emphasized that participants jointly launched the Carpathian Integration Initiative at the first Carpathian 8 summit.
"May the EU Carpathian macroregion remain strong. And may this format continue to support us on our path to joining the European Union. I thank all the leaders of the C8 countries, business representatives and our Carpathian communities for their strong participation, promising projects and agreements. Billions of euros and mutual growth in potential," Zelenskyy added.
He also reminded allies that it is extremely important to implement everything planned so far.
In addition, the president promised to attract additional resources and capabilities to support cross-border cooperation between communities.
"And there is a specific aspect here in the Carpathians: mountain communities, which means mountain roads, as well as their own social and environmental challenges," Zelenskyy explained.
In his view, many of these issues can only be resolved together with neighboring countries.

The Carpathian 8 (C8) is a format that has brought together the countries of the Carpathian macroregion.
It includes Ukraine, Romania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia and Austria, as well as the European Union as a whole.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the creation of the Carpathian 8 on September 18.
The main goal of this format is to strengthen interaction among countries in the region in security, energy, and the economy.
Recently, the Ukrainian leader unveiled the first official agreements reached by all C8 participants.
