At the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, US President Joe Biden harshly criticized his predecessor, Donald Trump, and urged citizens to vote for Kamala Harris.

Biden emphasizes his firmness in relations with Russia. He says that, unlike Trump, he never bowed down to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, and neither had Kamala Harris.

Biden also highlights his administration's successes in strengthening global alliances and confronting Russia and China.

"Putin thought he'd take Kyiv in three days. Three years later, Ukraine is still free," US President says, drawing thunderous applause from the delegates.

In addition, Biden outlines the main principles of his policy, including protection of the middle class, infrastructure development and microchip production, job creation, and efforts to reduce prescription drug prices.

The President calls on Americans to support Kamala Harris in the upcoming elections, noting that he holds no grudges against those who convinced him to withdraw his candidacy.

At the end of his speech, Biden thanked Americans for their trust and loyalty, quoting lines from the US national anthem: "America, I gave my best to you."

US presidential election 2024

Kamala Harris announced her candidacy for the election after US President Joseph Biden decided to withdraw from the race following his unsuccessful performance in the debate with Donald Trump. At the time, Democrats and Biden's supporters were so shocked by the debate that statements from party representatives and donors began to appear officially about Biden's inability to win.

After that, he decided to withdraw his candidacy. Harris is currently ahead of Trump in almost all key states.

However, Trump is trying to reassure both citizens and the world that he can win. In addition to populism (both on domestic and foreign issues), he is constantly trying to insult Harris. He explains this by saying that he does not respect her and therefore allegedly has the right to do so.

Meanwhile, social polls show that the attitude of American citizens towards Harris is much better than towards Trump.

Harris' campaign headquarters announced two rounds of debates with Trump.
