Biden seeks talks with Xi on North Korea’s involvement in Russia's war against Ukraine
US President Joe Biden plans to press Chinese leader Xi Jinping during their latest meeting. It is scheduled for today during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, Sky News reports.
Biden will use his final meeting with Xi Jinping to urge him to dissuade North Korea from further deepening its support for Russia's war in Ukraine.
Today's talks, which will take place on the sidelines of the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Peru, come just over two months before Biden leaves office. This will be Biden's last official meeting with Xi Jinping.
Sky News' anonymous sources say that during the last meeting, Biden will push Xi Jinping to increase cooperation with China to prevent further escalation of the already dangerous situation with North Korea.
The White House recently announced that during his meeting with Xi Jinping, Biden will discuss a number of issues.
Among them will be Beijing's support for Moscow in Russia's war against Ukraine and the deployment of the North Korean military in Russia.
