Biden plans to meet with three European leaders in Germany
US President Joe Biden is set to visit Germany this week, where he plans to meet with three European leaders, citing CNN.
According to three Western officials who spoke to the outlet, Biden is expected to meet with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Berlin this week.
As previously reported, Biden was supposed to chair a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format last week, where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was also expected to attend. However, Biden's trip to Germany was canceled.
Biden promised to reschedule the trip, but the prospects of a meeting with the so-called European quartet remained unclear.
Biden's visit to Germany
US President Joe Biden was initially set to visit Germany last week in what was to be his final trip as the nation's leader. However, the trip was canceled due to Hurricane Milton, which affected parts of the US.
Media have reported that Biden will arrive in Germany at the end of this week, likely on October 18. However, the Ramstein format meeting will not take place during the US president's visit.
In recent days, the German government confirmed Biden's visit, noting that the US president will only spend one day in Germany.
