Belgium to join Coalition of the Willing to send troops to Ukraine after ceasefire

In Brussels, Belgium's Minister of Defense Theo Francken announced the possibility of participating as part of the Coalition of the Willing alongside the UK and France.
In particular, Belgium is ready to send its troops to Ukraine immediately after a ceasefire is reached.
"We are ready, as part of the Coalition of the Willing, together with the UK and France, to begin operating on Ukrainian territory immediately after a ceasefire is concluded," Francken said before the start of the meeting of EU foreign and defense ministers in Brussels.
This concerns a potential peace deployment aimed at stabilizing the situation after the active phase of hostilities.
At the same time, the Minister did not specify which particular formats of military presence might be involved.
Coalition of the Willing
Coalition of the Willing is led by the UK and France. As British Defense Minister John Healey noted, the goal of this coalition is to ensure safe skies, safe seas, security on land for Ukraine, and to support Ukrainian defenders.
However, The Times recently reported that so far European countries have been struggling to mobilize 25,000 servicemen to participate in the deterrence mission in Ukraine.
