Ukraine is observing the development of military logistics and infrastructure in Belarus, which in the future could be used in coordination with Russia, states State Border Guard Service of Ukraine spokesperson Andrii Demchenko, according to Den.LIVE.

According to the State Border Guard Service spokesperson, this refers to the development of routes and facilities that could potentially strengthen the military capabilities of the neighboring country. In the future, these resources may be used in joint operations with Russian forces.

Despite ongoing infrastructure development, the aggressor state does not currently maintain any groups in Belarus capable of carrying out a direct invasion. However, the relevant infrastructure capabilities remain in place.

Demchenko emphasized that Ukraine is continuously monitoring the situation. Intelligence and the State Border Guard Service track any changes in order to be prepared for possible provocations or other hostile scenarios near the state border.

Threat from Belarus

On Saturday, May 2, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that "specific" activity by Belarusian forces had been observed on the Ukraine–Belarus border. He stated that the situation is under control and that Ukraine is ready to respond if necessary.

At the same time, Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation Andrii Kovalenko commented that at most, Belarus could engage in minor provocations.

Zelenskyy also recently said that Russia has many "sick, fantastical ideas," adding that Ukraine does not want Belarus to be drawn into them.

On May 2, a balloon entered Ukraine from Belarusian territory. It functioned as a signal repeater to enhance communication for air strike systems used by Russia during attacks.
