Summer, heat, and everyone wants to go to the sea—but what if, for some reason, it's not possible? No worries. Ukraine is home to plenty of picturesque bodies of water, from cozy lakes to well-equipped resorts with modern infrastructure. Here's a list of wonderful water destinations worth visiting this season.
Shatsk Lakes, Volyn
This peaceful corner of the Polissia nature offers clear water with a transparent bottom and deep lakes. Lake Svityaz is the deepest and most popular, with sandy beaches and a gentle entry into the water.
There are designated zones for family rest and quiet relaxation, where you can enjoy the peace and silence. Infrastructure includes resorts, campgrounds, and rental services for pedal boats and rowboats.
You can easily reach the lakes by train to Kovel, then take a minibus to Shatsk or Svityaz.

Bakota, Khmelnytskyi region

Cherepashyntsi Quarry, Vinnytsia region

City beaches in Cherkasy become popular summer spots with cafés, a riverside promenade, and multiple beaches like Kazbetsky, Sosnivsky, Wake Park, and "Zhivchyk."
Here you can combine beach leisure with cultural walks and interesting city sights. A great choice for those who want to mix sunbathing with urban entertainment. Especially suitable for spontaneous trips and evening hangouts by the water.
