In Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region, the number of injured from yesterday’s Russian ballistic missile strikes has risen to 17. Initially, reports indicated 13 people were injured, according to Serhii Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.

The official noted that of the injured, 14 people required medical assistance.

"Eight victims are currently in the hospital, all in moderate condition," he said.

According to the head of the administration, the Russian strike in Kryvyi Rih damaged:

  • a hotel,
  • a store,
  • an administrative building,
  • an educational institution,
  • and seven apartment buildings.

"About 15 cars were damaged, including three fire engines, three police vehicles, and an ambulance," the official reported on Telegram.

He added that relief centers have been set up in Kryvyi Rih to assist the affected residents.

"These centers are accepting claims for damaged property and distributing building materials. People are also provided with food and hot tea," the OVA chief stated.

Additionally, he shared photos of the aftermath of the Russian missile strike on the city.

Update: rescuer among the injured

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) reported that Russian forces launched a second attack on Kryvyi Rih while emergency workers were dealing with the aftermath of the initial strike.

The second strike occurred as SES personnel were extinguishing a fire caused by the first attack.

The service confirmed that one of the injured is a rescue worker, and SES equipment was also damaged in the attack.

Ballistic strikes on Kryvyi Rih

Earlier reports stated that late in the evening on October 19, Russian forces hit Kryvyi Rih twice with ballistic missiles.

Emergency rescue operations were launched following the attacks, and residential buildings in the city were damaged.

Later that night, it was reported that more than 10 people had been injured in the attacks.
