Emergency rescue operation underway in Kryvyi Rih due to Russian missile strike
Emergency rescue operations began in Kryvyi Rih after a Russian missile attack the night before. Residential buildings were damaged, according to Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the city's Defense Council.
"Rescue operations are ongoing. All municipal, emergency, and medical services are on site," he stated.
Residents of buildings damaged by the Russian missile strike were urged to contact the aid headquarters, which is being set up in the Dovhyntsivskyi executive committee, located at Dniprovske Highway 11.
According to the head of the city’s Defense Council, "building materials such as plastic sheeting, oriented strand board, and more are already being delivered there."
He added that the nearest Points of Invincibility was School No. 109. at 83 Yaroslav Mudryi Street.
Ballistic missile strikes on Kryvyi Rih
It was previously reported that late in the evening of October 19, Russian forces struck Kryvyi Rih twice using ballistic weapons. Explosions were heard throughout the city.
Later, city authorities urged Kryvyi Rih residents to remain information-silence and refrain from posting the impact sites online.
Meanwhile, Serhii Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, reported that a car caught fire after the missile strikes, but the flames had already been extinguished.
No information on potential casualties has been released so far. The head of the Regional Military Administration added that the consequences of the attack are still being clarified.
As a reminder, on September 27, Russian forces also launched a ballistic missile strike on the police department in Kryvyi Rih. That attack resulted in casualties and one fatality.
