Apple to hold online presentation on May 7: What new products will be presented
Tomorrow, May 7, Apple will hold its first event of the year, focusing primarily on the iPad. The company also plans to refresh some accessories for the iPad, according to the MacRumors website, which specializes in Apple products.
iPad Pro
The main announcement is likely to be the iPad Pro, which will be equipped with OLED screens for the first time. This will allow them to have deeper black colors, improved contrast, and more efficient power consumption, similar to smartphones. They will also retain the ProMotion feature with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.
The company will likely introduce two versions of the tablet - with screens measuring 11.1 and 12.9 inches. Both devices will have reduced bezels around the screens and become thinner. The 11.1-inch model will be 5.1 mm thick (compared to 5.9 mm), and the 12.9-inch model will be 5 mm thick (compared to 6.4 mm).
However, it is unclear which chips the new models will be equipped with. Some sources say that the new iPad Pro will be the first Apple device with the M4 chip, specifically designed for artificial intelligence functions. Others claim that they may be limited to the M3 chip.
The front cameras will be moved to the elongated edges of the tablets, making video calls more convenient. There are also unofficial mentions of versions of the devices with 4 TB of storage and support for MagSafe charging.
iPad Air
This time, Apple will introduce two versions of the tablets: a standard model with a 10.9-inch screen and an enlarged version with a 12.9-inch screen. The main difference from previous Pro models is the use of more conventional LCD displays instead of OLED. The front camera will also be moved to facilitate video conferencing when a keyboard is connected.
Magic Keyboard
The updated version of the device may feature a more durable aluminum frame. It is expected that the size of the trackpad will also increase, bringing the iPad with a keyboard closer to the MacBook at least in appearance.
Apple Pencil
The exact name of the tool is currently unknown, but in the updated third iteration, the company may introduce haptic feedback. "Deeper integration with the Vision Pro is a possibility, and it could perhaps work with drawing apps that support VisionOS. There's also a chance that we could see the Apple Pencil come in both black and white rather than just whit," the note specifies.
