Unknown drones strike occupied Donetsk and Makiivka, leaving part of Donetsk without power, according to Russian media.

The first reports of unidentified drones over occupied Donetsk began appearing in local social media channels around 8:00 p.m. Kyiv time.

Within minutes, eyewitnesses estimated there were about 50 drones, which were striking not only Donetsk but also Makiivka.

It is reported that the Voroshylovskyi and Kyivskyi districts of occupied Donetsk have been partially left without power.

Local social media channels report attacks on the energy infrastructure of the so-called DNR (Donetsk People's Republic).

Blackouts in the occupied Donetsk region

As reported by RBC-Ukraine, the previous blackout in the occupied Donetsk region occurred on November 22, when residents were left without power following another attack by unidentified drones.

Initially, explosions were heard in occupied Shakhtarsk. Later, reports emerged of "air defense operations" in Donetsk, Makiivka, and a drone strike on Zuhres.

At the same time, Telegram channels reported power outages in several occupied settlements in the Donetsk region. Social media pages indicated that drones had struck the Zuivska thermal power plant and substations in Shakhtarsk.

The day before, the occupied part of the Donetsk region also experienced power outages. Drones were first detected over Makiivka, and soon information appeared that Donetsk, Makiivka, Horlivka, Yenakiieve, Khartsyzk, Yasynuvata, and other settlements were partially without electricity.

Another large-scale blackout occurred on the night of November 18, when unidentified drones attacked two thermal power plants — Zuivska and Starobesheve. That night, at least Donetsk, Makiivka, and Ilovaisk were left without power.

At that time, the so-called "authorities" of the occupied Donetsk region declared a state of emergency, claiming that this measure would allegedly allow them to respond more quickly and manage the situation.
