Albania has officially confirmed its readiness to participate actively in international assistance programs and to honor its commitments to Kyiv, Albanian Foreign Minister Elisa Spiropali said during a joint press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

Spiropali announced the country's participation in the PURL (recovery and security logistics) program. She emphasized that the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama are committed to thoroughly studying this mechanism and to actively working within its framework as early as 2026.

"Our prime minister, our government, is dedicated to looking at and engaging with the PURL program. We are a NATO member, and we consider our responsibilities in NATO's border sharing, and we are really ready in 2026 to engage in programs not only PURL but also programs of cooperation financially with Ukraine," the speaker said.

The Albanian foreign minister paid special attention to the bilateral security guarantees that were signed last year between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Albanian prime minister. Albania assured its full readiness to fulfill all the commitments it has undertaken.

"And with the consult agreement security guarantees that were signed between President Zelenskyy and our Prime Minister Rama last year, we guess we are ready to engage, and we will also, in terms of the agreement. And we are waiting for agreement here, not only there, but also take full responsibility on the terms that were signed," Elisa Spiropali added.

During the joint press conference of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and Albanian Foreign Minister Elisa Spiropali, it was announced that Ukraine will definitely participate in the World Economic Forum in Davos this year.

The foreign minister did not give a direct answer to the question of whether an agreement on Ukraine's recovery worth $800 billion between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump would be signed at the Davos forum.

At the same time, he confirmed that meetings with US representatives are already scheduled and that the parties are working to finalize the format and outcomes of the talks.
