Air defense destroys over 500 Russian aerial targets, 10 missiles hit

On the night of December 26, Russia attacked Ukraine, using 40 missiles and 519 strike drones. Ukraine's air defense forces managed to shoot down 503 enemy targets, according to the Telegram account of the Ukrainian Air Force.
According to the military, from 6:00 p.m. on December 26 to the morning of December 27, the enemy carried out a combined strike on Ukraine's critical infrastructure using strike drones, air-, sea-, and ground-launched missiles.
The main direction of the attack was the Kyiv region.
In total, the Air Force's radar troops detected and tracked 559 aerial attack objects — 40 missiles and 519 drones of various types:

519 strike drones of the Shahed and Gerbera types (and other drones) from the directions of Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and Hvardiyske in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea (about 300 of them were Shaheds);

10 ballistic/aerobalistic missiles Iskander-M/X-47M2 Kinzhal (launch areas: Ryazan and Bryansk regions of Russia);

7 cruise missiles Iskander-K/Caliber (launch area: Rostov region, Black Sea waters);

21 cruise missiles X-101 (launch areas: airspace of Vologda region, Russia);
-
2 cruise missiles X-22 from the airspace over the Black Sea.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, drone systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 1:00 p.m., air defense had shot down or suppressed 503 aerial targets:

474 enemy drones of the Shahed and Gerbera types (and other drones);

6 ballistic/aerobalistic missiles Iskander-M/X-47M2 Kinzhal;

4 cruise missiles Iskander-K/Caliber;

19 cruise missiles X-101.
Impacts were recorded from 10 missiles and 25 strike drones at 30 locations, while debris from downed drones and missiles fell in 16 locations.
"In addition, one missile did not reach its target. Information on 15 (location-lost) drones is being clarified, and several enemy drones are still in the air. Follow safety precautions!" the Air Force warned.
Attack on Ukraine on December 27
On the night of December 27, Russian forces carried out a massive attack across Ukraine, using various types of weapons. Kyiv and the Kyiv region were among the affected areas.
Seven districts of Kyiv suffered damage, with fires and destruction reported.
Currently, about 20 people have been reported injured in the capital, including two children.
Russian forces also struck industrial and residential facilities in the Kyiv region, resulting in casualties and one confirmed death.
Specifically, Vyshhorod, Boryspil, Bila Tserkva, Bucha, and Obukhiv districts came under attack.
According to the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk, as of the morning, part of the left bank of the region remains without electricity. More than 320,000 consumers are currently without power.
Power outages affect settlements in the Boryspil, Brovary, and Vyshhorod districts.
In addition, due to the enemy attack, emergency power outages were implemented in Kyiv. Nearly one-third of the capital is also without heat.
