Russians did not shell the Black Sea grain corridors once during the week. This occurred after Ukrainian military destroyed three Russian fighter jets over the Black and Azov Seas on December 24, says Natalia Humeniuk, Head of the United Coordinating Press Center of Security and Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine.

"As of today, for almost a week, we practically haven't observed such flights involving the launch of guided air bombs. A week is certain, maybe the dates will be more precise; we'll look into that in our analysis," says the spokesperson for the Operational Command South.

Humeniuk has noted that it's currently perilous for enemy aircraft to fly too far from Russian shores due to the increased risk of being shot down.

"We demonstrated to the enemy that the activity of tactical aviation in the Black Sea area is extremely dangerous for them. Such attempts have ceased, but it's essential to realize that the sea has been more mined after previous flights," she adds.

Destruction of Russian aircraft

On December 22, Ukrainian defenders managed to destroy three Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers within a day in the Kherson region.

By December 24, the Ukrainian air defense system destroyed another Su-34 and one Su-30 belonging to the Russian occupiers.

The Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security stated that the Ukrainian air defense forces had surpassed their success in eliminating enemy aviation in the Bryansk region.
