Russian Su-34 destruction: Ukrainian air defense outperforms itself
Ukrainian warriors have recently destroyed four Russian Su-34s, and air defense forces have surpassed their success in eliminating enemy aircraft in the Bryansk region, according to the Center for Strategic Communication and Information Security.
On December 23-24, Ukraine's air defense forces shot down four Russian Su-34 aircraft.
"The Su-34 is one of the most advanced fighter-bombers in Russia, the number and production capacity of which is limited. The simultaneous loss of 4 units is a significant blow to the combat potential of the aggressor," the statement says.
The destruction of enemy aircraft is a remarkable success, as Russian aviation attacks cause serious damage at the front and losses in the rear.
Ukraine surpasses its success in the Bryansk region
The Center for Strategic Communication and Information Security states that the air defense forces have managed to surpass their success in destroying Su-35 and Su-34 aircraft and two Mi-8MTPR-1 helicopters over the Bryansk region in May this year.
"The Patriot air defense system proves its effectiveness on the battlefield. An increase in the number of units of these systems can really bring Ukraine's victory closer, and most importantly, it saves the lives of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians," the Center writes.
The expected transfer of the first 18 F-16 fighters to Ukraine by the Netherlands will significantly improve the statistics of destroyed enemy targets.
Destruction of Russian aircraft in the Bryansk region
On May 13, it became known that a helicopter crashed in the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation. According to Russian media, before the crash, the helicopter circled the town of Klintsy for a long time and then crashed into a private house.
Later, the Russian occupiers claimed that another helicopter went down in the Bryansk region. The second board allegedly landed in the town of Starodub. It also later became known that another plane had crashed in the Bryansk region, then it was another Su-34.
Recently, Ukrainian Air Force spokesperson Yurii Ihnat said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully used Patriot air defense systems to destroy Russian aircraft in the skies over the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation on May 13, 2023.
Shooting down Russian Su-34s
On the evening of December 24, Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk said that a Russian Su-34 was shot down by an anti-aircraft missile system in the Mariupol direction.
Also on December 22, Oleshchuk said that the Ukrainian military had shot down three Russian Su-34 aircraft in the southern direction. He noted that this was the defense's response to a nighttime drone attack.
