Since the beginning of the day on September 24, there have been 83 combat clashes on the front. The Russian forces are attacking most actively in the Pokrovsk, Lyman, and Kurakhove directions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russian shelling

According to the General Staff, today, the border villages of Khotin and Korshachyna in the Sumy region were subjected to missile strikes from Russian territory. Russia likely used S-300 missile system rockets.

Additionally, communities in the Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions were affected by enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Sopych, Velyka Pysarivka, Luhivka, Uhroidy, Brusky, Tymofiivka, Iskryskivshchyna, and Bilopillia.

Furthermore, the Russian army carried out airstrikes with guided aerial bombs on the areas of Malushyne, Richky, Yastrubyne, Sosnivka, Kindrativka, Pavlivka, Nova Sloboda, and the city of Sumy.

Situation in the directions

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy is attempting to storm the positions of our units near Vovchansk. At the same time, guided aerial bombs have targeted residential areas and civilian infrastructure in Kharkiv.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops have attacked the Defense Forces seven times in the areas of Andriivka, Lozova, and Stelmakhivka. Two clashes are still ongoing. Enemy aviation has struck Petro-Pavlivka with sixteen missiles.

In the Lyman direction, the aggressor's army launched 15 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Druzheliubivka, Hrekivka, Cherneshchyna, Nevske, Torske, and Novosadove. Ten battles have concluded, while five are ongoing. Ukrainian forces are holding their ground and inflicting losses on the enemy.

In the Kramatorsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the Defense Forces have repelled nine attacks from Russian invaders near Mynkivka, Kalynivka, Bila Hora, and Stupochky. Five enemy assaults are still ongoing. Russian aviation has struck Andriivka with missiles.

In the Toretsk direction, the aggressor attempted to breach our defenses seven times in the areas of Toretsk and Shcherbynivka. Five clashes are still ongoing, with the enemy actively employing aviation.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian invaders have made 15 attempts to push our defenders from their positions in the areas of Vozdyzhenska, Novotoretske, Novohrodivka, Krasny Yar, Marynivka, and Mykolaivka. The Defense Forces have repelled 13 enemy attacks, with two battles still ongoing.

In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy army has attacked 12 times towards the settlements of Tsukuryne, Zhelanne Druhe, Heorhiivka, Dalne, and Kostiantynivka. Nine of Russia's' attempts to advance have already been repelled.

In the Vremivka direction, four enemy attacks continue towards Pavlivka, Vodyane, and Vuhledar.

In the Huliaipole direction, Russian invaders have shelled Bilohirya with missiles.

In other areas, there are no significant changes.

"The operation in the Kursk region is ongoing. The enemy's aviation continues to destroy its own villages and cities. Since the beginning of the day, Russian planes have launched six strikes with nine guided bombs on their own territory," the General Staff added.

Situation on the frontlines and Russian losses

According to the General Staff, during the past day, September 23, there were 143 battles along the line of engagement. In the Toretsk direction, Russia employed aviation.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has lost over 645,000 personnel.

In the past day, the Defense Forces eliminated another 1,400 soldiers and destroyed 16 tanks, 40 armored fighting vehicles, 61 artillery systems, and other enemy equipment.
