Since the beginning of the day on October 4, there have been 79 combat clashes on the front lines. The hottest spots right now are in the Kurakhove, Kupiansk, and Pokrovsk directions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russian shelling

Today, the Russian army conducted airstrikes and artillery shelling along the border of the Sumy region.

As of now, there are reports of 13 airstrikes using 23 guided aerial bombs.

In particular, the areas affected include the settlements of Stepne, Obody, Bilokopytove, Yastrubyne, Pavlivka, Bondarivshchyna, Myrlohy, and Katerynivka. The following settlements were subjected to artillery shelling: Uhroidy, Sosnivka, Obody, Shalyhyne, Luhivka, Pavlivka, Velyka Pysarivka, Fotovyzh, and Stepaniivka.

In the territory of the Kursk region, Russian forces launched ten airstrikes, dropping 20 guided aerial bombs.

Situation in the directions

In the Kharkiv direction, there have been three combat clashes since the beginning of the day near Starytsia and Vovchansk, two of which are still ongoing. The Russian army also dropped two aerial bombs in the Vovchansk area.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops attempted to storm our positions near Synkivka, Novoselivka, Pishchane, Stelmakhivka, and Lozova 11 times, with battles ongoing. Hlushkivka was hit by an airstrike.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked in the areas of Hrekivka, Makiivka, Novosadove, and Torske. A total of eight combat clashes have been recorded in this direction since the beginning of the day, with two still ongoing. The enemy carried out airstrikes with guided aerial bombs in the areas of Iziumske, Zarichne, Ozerne, and Lyman, using 20 aerial bombs.

The enemy continues attempts to break through our troops' defenses in the Siversk direction but faces strong resistance from Ukrainian defenders. Near Verkhniokamianske, Russia tried to push our units back twice. They launched airstrikes on Zakitne, Pereiizne, and Riznykivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian troops attempted six times to dislodge our units from their positions near Kalynivka, Stupochky, and Andriivka since the beginning of the day. The enemy also struck Chasiv Yar with unguided aerial missiles and dropped guided aerial bombs on Yurkivka.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy, supported by bomber aircraft, attacked our positions eight times. Currently, seven combat clashes are ongoing near Toretsk and Shcherbynivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, fierce fighting is taking place in the areas of Mykolaivka, Selydove, and Lysivka. The enemy has carried out seven assaults on our positions, with battles ongoing in four locations. Additionally, enemy aviation struck near the settlements of Pokrovsk and Selydove, using guided aerial bombs.

A difficult situation is observed in the Kurakhove direction, where the enemy has attacked our units 16 times since the beginning of the day. They attempted to advance near Tsukuryne, Hostre, Heorhiivka, Antonivka, Kostiantynivka, and in the direction of Bohoyavlenka. Six combat clashes are still ongoing.

In the Orikhiv direction, near Robotyne, Mali Shcherbaky, and Kamianske, Russia made four attempts to advance but faced fierce resistance, with fighting continuing near Kamianske.

Situation at the front and losses of Russia

According to the General Staff, during the past day, October 3, there were 142 battles at the front. The highest number of combat clashes was recorded in the Pokrovsk direction.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has lost over 657,000 personnel. Over the past day, the Defense Forces eliminated another 1,230 soldiers and destroyed 15 tanks, 31 armored fighting vehicles, 59 artillery systems, and other enemy equipment.
