5 unusual airport attractions for travelers in different cities around the world
Today's travelers often spend considerable time at airports due to long layovers, flight delays, and check-in waits. To enhance the travel experience for both children and adults, several airports around the world offer unique and engaging attractions.
Wave pool, Munich
Munich Airport in Germany features the O2 SURFTOWN MUC, an outdoor surfing park located nearby. The wave pool, spanning 10,000 square meters, provides entertainment for both beginners and professionals.

Hedge Maze, Singapore
At Singapore Changi Airport, visitors can explore a living maze under a glass dome, where the walls are composed of living plants.
The creators note that when one reaches the watchtower at its center, they will be treated to a bird’s-eye view of the maze's intricate twists and turns.
Luggage and wheeled bags are prohibited, and comfortable, closed-toe shoes are recommended.

Aquarium, Vancouver
Vancouver International Airport in Canada boasts a unique exhibit: a 114,000-liter aquarium housing over 20,000 marine plants and animals.
According to the Vancouver Aquarium's website, the colorful rocky kelp forest is said to feature a rich collection of British Columbia’s marine residents.

Tunel Spasa, Sarajevo
Beneath Sarajevo International Airport in Bosnia and Herzegovina lies the renowned Sarajevo Tunnel, also known as the Tunnel of Hope or the Tunnel of Salvation
Built between March and June 1993 during the siege of Sarajevo in the Bosnian War, the tunnel connected the besieged city of Sarajevo with a UN-controlled area near the airport.
The tunnel was essential for transporting weapons, supplies, and other resources necessary to support the encircled territories.

Pilot's Cockpit, Zurich
Zurich Airport in Switzerland offers aviation enthusiasts aged 12 and up the chance to experience being a pilot and "fly" a Boeing B777, a Bell-407 helicopter, or an original Pilatus PC-7—thanks to the Super Constellation Simulator.
It allows you to land in Hong Kong (as the captain of the Boeing), perform a mountain landing on a glacier with a helicopter, or imagine yourself as a Swiss Air Force pilot. All "flights" are conducted with the guidance of instructors.
