38 fatalities in Kazakhstan plane crash, Deputy PM confirms
In Kazakhstan, as a result of the passenger plane crash today, December 25, 38 people have died. Dozens of others are also hospitalized with injuries, states Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbaev, according to Report.
"The situation is not very good, 38 dead. The bodies are in poor condition, mostly burned," Bozumbaev noted.
He added that 29 people, including two children, who were injured in the plane crash are currently in hospitals. 11 individuals are in a stable but severe condition, while the rest are in a moderate condition.
The Deputy Prime Minister mentioned that expert examinations would be conducted to identify the bodies of the deceased.
Additionally, according to Bozumbaev, there are no citizens of Kazakhstan among the survivors.
"There is currently one woman, whose identity has not been established. She is unconscious in the hospital and has no documents. Among the other 29 survivors, there are no Kazakhstanis," he said.
The official clarified that the investigation into the incident is being conducted under the supervision of Kazakhstan's General Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and aviation authorities.
Plane crash
Today, December 25, a passenger plane crashed near the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan, while en route from Baku to Grozny.
The plane had 67 people on board, including citizens from Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
According to reports, the passenger plane may have been shot at while in Russian airspace. Marks on its fuselage suggest that these could have been caused by air defense systems.
