In Ternopil, the number of those killed after the Russian missile attack on November 19 has risen to 36. A woman who had sustained severe injuries died in the hospital, reports the head of the regional National Police department, Serhiy Zubanenko.

"Today, we received another sad piece of news. A woman who was seriously injured in the missile strike on Ternopil on November 19 has died at St. Luke's Hospital in Lviv," he said.

According to the law enforcement official, she was a pensioner born in 1944, a resident of a building on 15 Kvitnya Street that was damaged as a result of the enemy strike.

As of December 2, the death toll has risen to 36 people, including 29 adults and seven children.

"Unfortunately, 5 people (four adults and one child) are still considered missing. Our investigators, forensic experts, and canine units continue working to determine the fate of each person," Zubanenko noted.

Law enforcement officers are still searching for remains among the debris of buildings and burnt cars. The recovered remains have been sent for DNA examination.

Attack on Ternopil

On the morning of November 19, around 7:00, Russian forces launched missile and Shahed drone strikes on residential buildings in Ternopil.

Nine-story apartment buildings were damaged: one caught fire, and another suffered destruction from the 3rd to the 9th floor. Search-and-rescue operations at the attack sites continued for four days and ended on November 22.

Initially, it was reported that 28 people, including three children, were killed in the strike on the apartment building, and more than 90 others were injured.

Later, the number of victims increased when three more deceased were found at the site of emergency and search operations — a woman and two children.

November 19–21 were declared days of mourning for those killed in the Russian attack on the city.

On November 27, it became known that 12-year-old Adriana Unolt died in the hospital after fighting for her life for nine days following the missile strike on the city. Her mother was killed during the attack, and her sister remains in the hospital.

Through DNA testing, law enforcement also managed to identify another victim who had been considered missing.
