In Ternopil, the number of victims of the Russian missile strike on November 19 has risen. A 12-year-old girl who had been in the hospital for nine days has died, according to the city’s mayor, Serhii Nadal.
According to the mayor, 12-year-old Adriana Unolt has died in Ternopil after fighting for her life for nine days following the missile attack on the city.
The girl’s mother was killed during the strike, and her sister remains in the hospital.
"Now Adriana is where there is no fear or explosions — next to her mother, in a quiet and bright place untouched by war," the mayor said.
He also reminded that nine days ago, missiles hit two residential buildings in Ternopil.
"Today, the pain of this tragedy returns once more — another child’s life has been taken by the war," the city’s mayor added.
Thus, the number of people killed as a result of the strike has risen to 35.
Attack on Ternopil
Previously, on the morning of November 19, at around 7:00 a.m. local time, Russian forces attacked the city with missiles and drones.
As a result of the direct hit of an X-101 missile, there was massive destruction of an apartment building – a collapse from the 9th to the 3rd floor. In another multi-apartment building, a fire broke out.
Initially, it was reported that 28 people were killed in the strike on the residential building, including three children, and more than 90 were injured.
Later, it became known that the number of victims had increased: during emergency search operations on November 21, three more bodies were found — a woman and two children.
Rescue operations continued for four days and ended on November 23. As of that day, 34 deaths were confirmed. Six more people — two men, three women, and one small child — are considered missing.
From November 19 to 21, the city observed Days of Mourning for the victims.
