103 battles since beginning of day: General Staff names hottest front directions

As of the evening of September 18, the number of combat clashes on the front has risen to 103. The hottest spots are currently in the Kurakhove and Pokrovsk directions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
Today, artillery and mortar fire from the enemy affected, among others, the communities of Mykolayivka, Velyka Pysarivka, Boyaro-Lezhachi, Tymofiivka, Malushyne, Uhroidy, Pavlivka, Tymonovychi, and Chaykine in Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions.
Additionally, Russian forces carried out airstrikes with KABs (guided aerial bombs) on the areas of Hrafske, Bondarivshchyna, Malushyne, Sosnivka, Iskrivshchyna, Obodiv, and Kostiantynivka.
Situation in the directions
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy, supported by aviation, is trying to storm the positions of our units near Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces have attacked the Defense Forces nine times in the areas of Synkivka, Kruhlivka, and Stelmakhivka. Two clashes are still ongoing. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the defense and inflicting losses on the enemy.
In the Lyman direction, the invading army carried out seven attacks on Ukrainian positions near Druzhelyubivka, Cherneshchyna, Nevske, and Makiivka. Seven clashes have ended, and two are ongoing.
Russia continues to look for weak spots in our defense near Verkhniokamianske in the Siversk direction. One assault by Ukrainian soldiers was repelled, and another clash is ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, since the beginning of the day, Defense Forces units have repelled three attacks by Russian invaders near Chasiv Yar and Stupochky. At the same time, the enemy's aviation struck Chasiv Yar and Druzhkivka with guided aerial bombs and unguided rockets.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attempted to breach our defenses seven times in the areas of Dachne, Shcherbynivka, Nelipivka, and New York. Russia struck Shcherbynivka and Ivanopillia twice with guided aerial bombs.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian invaders, supported by aviation, made 24 attempts to push our defenders from their positions in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Novotoretske, Hrodivka, Novohrodivka, Mykhailivka, and Krasnyi Yar. The Defense Forces are holding the line and repelled 21 attacks from the enemy, with three clashes still ongoing.
In the Kurakove direction, the enemy army attacked 26 times towards the settlements of Tsukuryne, Ukrainsk, Heorhiivka, Dalne, and Kostiantynivka. Twenty-three attempts by the Russian army to advance have been repelled.
In the Vremivka direction, there have been five enemy attacks near Katerynivka and Bohoyavlenka. Three battles are still ongoing.
In the Hulyaipole direction, Russian invaders unsuccessfully attacked in the area of Hulyaipole. At the same time, enemy aviation struck Piatykhatky and Zherebianky with unguided aerial rockets.
In the Orikhiv direction, the occupying forces stormed the positions of the Defense Forces four times in the areas of Mala Tokmachka and Novodanylivka. One clash is still ongoing.
Additionally, the enemy unsuccessfully attacked our defenders four times in the Prydniprovskyi direction.
"The operation continues in the Kursk region. The enemy's aviation continues to level their villages and towns to the ground. Since the beginning of the day, Russian planes have carried out twelve strikes with sixteen guided aerial bombs on their own territory," the General Staff added.
Situation on the front and enemy's losses
According to the General Staff, on September 17, there were 194 clashes along the front line. Half of the combat engagements were recorded in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost over 637,000 personnel. During the past day, the Defense Forces eliminated more than 1,100 soldiers. Additionally, yesterday, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 6 tanks, 3 armored fighting vehicles, 25 artillery systems, and other enemy equipment.
