Zelenskyy comments on foreign troops in Ukraine following Washington negotiations

The question of whether foreign troops could be deployed in Ukraine remains unresolved, Zelenskyy said after talks in Washington.
According to the Ukrainian president, responsibility for this issue lies with the Coalition of the Willing, which brings together 30 countries. Zelenskyy made the remarks following his meetings at the White House.
"We are talking about the Coalition of the Willing, we will be talking about 30 countries, and we will understand what each of these countries can offer in practice. Some, probably, will be ready to talk about presence, some will talk about intelligence, some about the sea, some about air security, different formats," he said.
Zelenskyy added that some of the countries in the Coalition of the Willing do not have the constitutional right to deploy troops. At the same time, such countries can provide financing for Ukrainian production.
Security guarantees for Ukraine
European leaders have formed a Coalition of the Willing to ensure security guarantees for Ukraine. A meeting of the coalition took place shortly before Zelenskyy visited the United States.
At that meeting, the Coalition declared its readiness to deploy deterrence forces in Ukraine.
The United States also began addressing the issue of guarantees. Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, said that during the Putin–Trump summit in Alaska, an agreement was reached in principle. According to him, the United States and its allies could provide guarantees similar to NATO’s Article 5, though not within the framework of the Alliance itself.
During his meeting with Zelenskyy at the White House, Trump confirmed that Washington would be involved in these guarantees, promising to deliver very strong protection for Ukraine together with Europe.
Zelenskyy said that the details of the security guarantees would be finalized within the next ten days.
