Putin agrees to US security guarantees for Ukraine, pledges not to attack Europe - Trump envoy

Trump's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin agreed to US security guarantees for Ukraine. In addition, there will be a commitment not to attack Europe, reports the Clash Report.
During an interview, a CNN host noted that President Donald Trump called his meeting with Putin productive, saying agreements were reached on several issues.
The journalist asked Witkoff which two specific points had been agreed upon.
Witkoff said the first point is security guarantees for Ukraine, including "Article 5 protection from the United States", referring to NATO's Article 5 principle.
"We agreed to robust security guarantees that I would describe as game-changing. We didn't think that we were anywhere close to agreeing to Article 5 protection from the United States," Witkoff said.
He added that there is also an agreement for Russia to legally commit not to attack other territories once a peace deal is reached. This applies to Europe.
"Legislative enshrinement in Russia, not to go after any other European countries, and violate their sovereignty. So, we agreed, and there was plenty more," the Trump envoy summarized.
Trump is prepared to provide security guarantees for Ukraine
Recent media reports said President Trump agreed to provide Ukraine with security guarantees similar to NATO's Article 5. However, these guarantees would remain outside the military alliance.
"The security guarantees as described by Trump on the call included bilateral security commitments and financial and military support for Ukraine's Armed Forces by a Western Coalition of the Willing, including the US,” European officials told The Wall Street Journal.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also said today that Ukraine insists on real security guarantees that will work in practice, similar to NATO's Article 5.
Zelenskyy is scheduled to travel to the US tomorrow to discuss details of ending the war.
