US soldiers in Ukraine? Trump makes claim about guarantees for Ukraine

US President Donald Trump has not ruled out that security guarantees for Ukraine could include a military component, though it remains unclear in what form they might ultimately be provided.
Trump was asked what format these guarantees might take, specifically whether they could involve US troops being stationed on Ukrainian territory.
He replied that he would be able to give a clearer answer later.
"We will be involved," Trump said.
What security guarantees for Ukraine are discussed
The question of security guarantees is expected to be one of the key issues at today’s meeting in Washington. Earlier, Western media reported that Vladimir Putin allegedly does not object to Ukraine's partners guaranteeing its security under a framework similar to NATO's Article 5. Exactly how this could be implemented, however, remains unclear.
According to Axios, Trump's team is still considering the possibility of deploying US troops to Ukraine. Another adviser noted that no final decision has been made and that the issue is not expected to be discussed publicly for now.
Germany has previously said it does not rule out the possibility of deploying troops, while the UK has explicitly stated it is ready to send soldiers within the first week after a potential peace agreement or ceasefire with Russia takes effect.
Meanwhile, the Coalition of the Willing recently confirmed its readiness to deploy deterrence forces. The idea is that a foreign military presence, in one form or another, could serve as a deterrent and guarantee that Russia does not attempt another full-scale invasion of Ukraine in the future.
